Tinted Moisturizer vs. Foundation [NARS edition]

February 10, 2016

NARSSSSSSSS! Okay so I’ve officially become a one brand woman, okay maybe not but if you could see my makeup stash it’s slowly but surely becoming NARS dominated. I started out with Tonkin, when the whole Kylie Jenner lip was in and then I slowly started gravitating towards other products until I was butt deep in NARS.
Today I want to address the question I get asked most often, what the heck do I use on my face? Literally people will come up to me and ask me what I’m wearing, and not like people I know just random people. Which was weird at first but then I realized it was a compliment so now it makes me giddy! ANYWAYS, It’s either one of these products and it really depends on my mood and what my day “may” consist of.
One is obviously a foundation and the other is a tinted moisturizer. Now, what’s the difference? In my opinion, the coverage and wearbility (I might have just created that word). More often than not I’m probably wearing the tinted moisturizer, which is literally that a tinted moisturizer. The coverage is light, which means that your skin peeks through the product, but it helps with evening out skin tone. I like wearing this to work and school so basically on an everyday basis. It is super simple to apply, most of the time I just use my good ‘ol fingers or a beauty blender and it takes 2 seconds to apply and lasts all day. It’s great for people who have dry – combination skin or people who love that dewy look.
Personally, I wear the foundation when I want a more medium to full coverage. It is such a durable foundation, I have partied (and I mean really partied, like rode a mechanical bull party + dancing till the break of dawn party) with this on my face and it doesn’t budge. My skin always looks so flawless with this on that I wish I could just tattoo it on forever.  I’ve found that applying it with a flattop kabuki or a beauty blender is the best way to get the much loved airbrush finish. A foundation is always heavier than a tinted moisturizer so I wouldn’t recommend wearing everyday but if you do then #workit and do you boo. Oh and I always make sure to set it with a translucent powder since the finish is more on the dewy side!
Which are your favorite NARS products?! Let me know in the comments below and I might just try them out – cause obviously I don’t have enough already…..
